Smith: Stimulus Hampers Economic Growth

The $787 billion so-called stimulus package, with its 39 new government programs, will add to inflation and hamper economic growth. Instead, we need to strengthen the economy and increase jobs by giving tax credits to the small businesses that create 70% of the new jobs in America. Every Republican in the House of Representatives voted against the stimulus plan. That’s how bad it was. Most of the taxpayers’ money won’t even be spent this year, when it might do some good. And most of the taxpayers’ money will not be spent wisely.
