Cap-and-Trade is Cap-and-Tax
March 15, 2009
This week the media reported that the President’s Budget would anticipate revenues from a cap-and-trade program. Companies would be required to buy permits from the government. Don’t be fooled, this is just another tax on American families. According to the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office, this program will cost the average household $1,600 in new taxes. I am opposed to a cap-and-trade program. While I believe that it is important to protect the environment, we must first protect the American family.
